Matador 3 at Rhenus Deep Sea Terminal

Last week at the Rhenus Deep Sea Terminal, Maasvlakte Rotterdam we received the Matador 3. This floating crane from Bonn & Mees, picked up a scrubber tank to load it on board of a Maersk container vessel who shipped it to the final destination.

Scrubber systems (e.g. chemical & gas scrubbers) are a diverse group of air pollution control devices that can be used to remove some particulates and/or gases from industrial exhaust streams. The Matador 3 has an impressive max lifting capacity of 1.800 metric ton. Because of the ideal location of our Heavy Lift terminal right in the middle of Europe’s biggest container port, floating cranes can easily pick up heavy cargo, sail to the adjacent container terminal and load the container vessel.

Rhenus Port Logistics, your heavy lift specialist in Rotterdam, has the largest fleet of floating cranes in Europe. The biggest crane has a lifting power of up to 1.800 tonnes. This large fleet ensures an efficient, fast and safe solution for any of your heavy lift challenges. By using heavy lift facilities amongst the surrounding major shipping lines, you can profit from all opportunities the intermodal and breakbulk world have to offer. Heavy cargo lifting and fast transit times.

Whether it is steel, metal, forest products, project or offshore cargo we can handle it at our Waalhaven terminal near the city center of Rotterdam and at the Rhenus Deep Sea Terminal at the Maasvlakte in Rotterdam. The floating cranes, our own harbor mobile cranes (max. 150MT) multiple reach stackers, forklifts and mafi-trailers makes our multi-purpose terminal perfect for any type of cargo.

We function as a cargo hub. Both our terminals are perfectly located to intermediate store your cargo for further inland transport via rail, barge, ship or truck. Our great hinterland connectivity in combination with our regular (break)bulk shipping lines enables us to ship your cargo easily to the UK, Scandinavia, the Iberian Peninsula, the Caribs, Canada, Russia and the Baltic States.

Earlier this year Rhenus Logistics joined forces with CMA CGM to ensure a smooth operation of all types of breakbulk cargo at the Maasvlakte. More information about this cooperation can be found here.
