Project highlight: US Army unload cargo at Rhenus terminal

In June the Rhenus Deep Sea Terminal (RDST) at the Rotterdam Maasvlakte received the MV Endurance of American RoRo Carriers (ARC). The Endurance is a roll-on roll-off ship with a length of 300 meters including the ramp it occupied 320 meters of the 500 meter south quay at the Rhenus Deep Sea Terminal. On board the Endurance were 1000 colli US Army material such as hummers, trucks, trailers and containers.

After clearing and preparing the terminal other ships were shifted to be able to berth the MV Endurance.
In less than 2 days the vessel was unloaded. It took 2 weeks to deliver the cargo destined for US Army bases in Germany, Latvia, Romania and Poland which was taken care of by DSV.

It has been a unique project for us where we could showcase our agility and determination in making the project work as the mobilization time was only two weeks after notice as ARC was confronted with a sudden unavailable berth. In these two weeks we prepared the terminal with all hands on deck without intervening the other customer’s projects.
