Project Cargo hub

Siemens power plant
with DB Schenker

During a four month period Rhenus Deep Sea Terminal functioned as a project cargo hub for DB Schenker as project forwarder receiving Siemens power plant parts from Germany. Several inland barges brought in 2x 327,5mt generators and 2x 142mt turbines. Trucks brought the remaining 250 colli.

In total the project was about 5000m3 and 2100MT. For the generators the help of Bonn & Mees floating cranes was used and the spmt’s of Wagenborg Nedlift. The turbines were twin lifted from barge and the trucks unloaded with our heavy forklifts. When the shipment was ready the cargo was picked up by a heavy lifter chartered by Cosco Shipping (with Cross Ocean as their agent) that shipped the cargo to Turkey.
